Charleston City Market is one of the city’s top attractions. Having been going since the 1790’s, it’s one of the oldest markets that you will find that still thrives to this day. It spans over four city blocks so you know that there are going to be lots of treasures for you to find when you start exploring this beautiful place.
With so many stalls and so many different things on offer, you truly are going to be spoilt for choice. Not only this though, but the place looks beautiful. It has a sense of community and a positive vibe, the likes of which are hard to find in this day and age. Anything you want, you will pretty much be able to find it here, as long as you are willing to spend the time needed to look through everything.
Rainbow Row
Rainbow Row is a row of buildings that consist of different colors. It is the longest stretch of Georgian architecture that is still standing, and that makes it a very popular tourist spot. It doesn’t hurt that the colors really make it pop, making it catching to the eye. If you are quite the history or architecture buff though, you are going to be more interested in the history itself. There are tours that feature this on them, so if you do want to learn more about it while experiencing it, these might be a good idea for you to look into.
Charleston Museum
Finally, you can head to the Charleston Museum. Founded in 1773, this was the first museum in the US, and it is a very highly regarded place. You will find lots of historical artifacts, decorative arts, natural history and so much more when you step inside. It’s a super cool place, and one that you want to take the time to visit, even if you make a special trip to Charleston just for this.
While it might not be a place that you would typically think of when you decide to go on vacation, it’s certainly a place that you should tick off your list at some point.
