Things to Do in Ruston Lincoln Parish
Autrey House Museum
The Absalom Autrey house is an example of the log dogtrot, the most common traditional house type of the early north Louisiana hill country. Built in 1849 and believed to be the oldest surviving structure in Lincoln Parish, the hand-hewn log house with square notches has an open central hall, with two rooms on each side and a sleeping loft above. The original ironstone chimney on the east side still stands.
Eddie G Robinson Museum
Have a football fan in the group? Then you won’t want to miss the Eddie G. Robinson Museum is a landmark that officially recognizes the outstanding contributions to the state of Louisiana, the nation, and the game of football made by Coach Eddie G. Robinson. The Eddie G. Robinson Museum is located on the campus of Grambling State University where Coach Robinson achieved legendary status by becoming NCAA Division I football’s all-time winningest coach.
North Louisiana Military Museum
This museum features two levels of military history. The inside is highlighted by three Congressional Medal of Honors representing three branches of service! You can also view uniforms from all branches of service as well as American Red Cross uniforms and insignia. While the outdoor displays include helicopters, tanks, artillery, anti-aircraft guns, and a Civil War cannon.
Garland Gregory Hideaway Park
Garland Gregory Hideaway Park is located on the Louisiana Tech campus in Ruston. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk and includes several pavilions throughout the park to provide picnic areas, some of which are equipped with grills and fire pits. The park includes several walking trails, a challenging 18 hole frisbee golf course, and a pond that provides opportunities for fishing and canoeing.

Be sure to try some local flavor and visit Ben Christmas Crawfish. From January to June they sell crawfish plates and a variety of other options.
