I love getting creative in the kitchen, and its especially fun to do it with my family. We have great memories of time spent together mixing up and eating a favorite delicacy. One of my kids? favorite summer activities is to whip up a fun and tasty treats, but when it gets hot outside the last thing we want to do is use the oven. That?s when its time to break out one of my favorite classic treats: Twinkies. Twinkies have the delicious taste everyone knows and loves, but they are good for so much more than just straight snacking. My kids have had so much fun coming up with lots of tasty Twinkie treats, but this is one of our summertime favorites:
?Strawberries N Cream Twinkie Dessert
Whats great about this treat is how quick and easy it is.? So easy the kids can have fun putting it together themselves and it only calls for 3 ingredients.? The sprinkles are optional but they do add a fun element.
What you Need
1/2 cup whipped topping, thawed
1/4 cup diced strawberries
6 Twinkies
Place 3 Twinkies on a plate. Put strawberries in a bowl and fold in whipped topping until combined. Spoon an even amount of strawberry mixture on top of each Twinkie and top with remaining Twinkie. Place in the freezer until whipped topping has set, about 30 minutes.
We love the fresh strawberry taste and the cool treat, which is perfect for a hot summer day! Twinkies are a fun and easy way to experiment in the kitchen and get your kids involved in a tasty creative endeavor. Hostess, the makers of Twinkies, is even putting together a recipe book of the best Twinkie creations from across the country. The cookbook will be out next year, just in time for Twinkie?s 85th anniversary. In the meantime, you can get creative in the kitchen and post your favorite Twinkie recipes online with the hashtag #TwinkieCookbook.
For more Twinkie recipe inspiration, be sure to follow Hostess on Twitter and Facebook. Get going and get creative?if Twinkies are involved, you know its going to be delicious!

My absolute favorite no-bake summer treat, hands down? Strawberries! I can easily eat a quart a day. I love to freeze them and then eat them one by one. They’re kind of like mini-sorbets without the added sugar.
