I?m always on the lookout for ways to keep my kids entertained that are fun and educational. Kids Academy has a great selection of apps to make everyone happy. Here are a few of our favorites:
Preschool and Kindergarten learning games has a ton of activities to help your child learn and grow. They can start with basic activities, like catching virtual fireflies and putting them in a jar, before moving towards more challenging things like tracing numbers and learning new words. My son loves the fun characters, happy music, and bright colors, and I love that the curriculum was designed by a preschool expert, so I know he is learning at the right level. The tracing shapes and letters are the perfect size for a kids? fingers. With more than 200 worksheets, there is something for every child and lots of activities to keep them engaged and active. Preschool and Kindergarten learning games is designed for children 5 and younger.
ABC Alphabet Phonics and Montessori Learn to Read is the perfect way to help kids learn to read! Instead of learning to read and write through repetitive, boring worksheets, the app uses tested Montessori methods to turn learning into a fun and interactive game. One of my favorite parts is that the app actually teaches kids to have good handwriting, which my older son definitely needs! Learning to read can be frustrated for kids, but the Montessori Learn to Read app uses multi-sensory games to engage all types of learners. Kids are also praised consistently along the way so they won?t get discouraged. I wouldn?t use this app as the only source of reading teaching for my son, but it is definitely a huge help when combined with school and home learning. My son can?t wait to do his reading games on the app, which is really saying something!
The Bingo ABC Alphabet Phonics app is constantly on repeat around my house. It uses the familiar ?Bingo? song with a twist to teach children their letters. The app is bright and colorful, and the song sure is catchy, so prepare to find yourself humming it throughout the day. I also find my kids singing it, which means that the app is working and the learning is sticking in their brain! There are other fun activities like games with farm animals, a karaoke version of the song (my husband loves to play that version), and chances to create funny stories. Bingo ABCs teaches basic skills in a way that is just at my toddler?s learning level and it gets him excited to learn and be creative every day!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have been looking for ways to make letter and number recognition more fun for my 4 year old. Last year, he hated school and everything that reminded him of it. (I see the importance of having great teachers!) This year he loves it and is really enjoying his class, his teacher, the number people, and the crafting. But I am always looking for more ways to make learning mobile. I am going to try Kids Academy!
