Designated as the city of love, Paris is often thought of as destination better suited for adults. Au contraire! Paris and several regions throughout France are quite family-friendly and easy to navigate, especially on EuroStar. With its strong culture, rich history, endless sights and fun for all, why not travel to France?
The entire country is an enthralling amusement park. The Grandiose cities, alluring beaches and charming countryside provide more than enough attractions and distractions for even the most enfant terrible. No matter how short or long your holiday is, take your time savoring every moment.
Your fun, family getaway in the city of lights will depend on the age of kids and their interests. But, something that all will enjoy is the magical world of Disney Paris. Spending a couple of days at the two parks, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, and in one of the seven themed hotels will make for a memorable experience.
Outside the world of Disney, await the enchanting streets of Paris. Magnificent art, eclectic performers, unique sounds and enticing aromas all surround the nation?s most notable attraction – the Eiffel Tower. If kids are old enough, challenge them to the climb to the top.
Kids will also enjoy checking out some of the other main attractions. The Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre and Notre Dame will surely fascinate kids. If they get antsy, stop in Au Nain Bleu. While they shop in the largest toy store in Paris you can take in the panoramic views of the city.
Paris boasts several remarkable art museums. If your kids bore easily, perhaps pick one to visit. With its vast display of Egyptian art, the Mus?e du Louvre, is the world?s largest and most visited. The Mus?e d?Orsay has a range of exhibits dedicated to impressionism, naturalism, sculptures and Art Nouveau. The Pompidou Center houses the largest display of modern art in Europe and a fun play center for kids.
After sightseeing let kids unwind in one of the many parks. Those between seven and 11 years will enjoy extensive playground and maze in the Jardin des Enfants, while kids under seven can play in the Jardin des Tout Petits. Complete the day with a boat ride down the Seine on the famous Bateaux-Mouche.
If you have the time, venture outside of Paris. Versailles is a fun side trip just minutes out of the city where you can partake in the perfect Parisian picnic on the grounds of the Chateau de Versailles. For history buffs, head to Loire Valley to take in the vineyards and elaborate castles.
Kids can also frolic in the warm waters surrounding France or enjoy family-friendly activities on the Alps. While beaches on the Atlantic coast are more family oriented, those in the French Riviera are quite exquisite. In Monaco, kids can watch changing of the guards outside the palace and get close-up to sharks and other impressive sea creatures in one of Europe?s largest aquariums, the Mus?e Oc?anographique de Monaco.
With all the fun and activities, your kids will have the trip of a lifetime. Bon Voyage!
