The holidays can get crazy, from the shopping and wrapping to the parties and other obligations. If I could have it my way, I would skip all of the fancy compulsory work parties and just have a few friends over for good food and great wine. When I suggested that offhandedly to my husband a few years ago, I was surprised by his enthusiastic response, and our annual pre-Thanksgiving get together was born.
Thanksgiving is all about reflecting on what we are thankful for, and I find myself much more able to be grateful when I?m surrounded by good friends, a warm fire, and fantastic wine. A few years ago we discovered Kenwood Vineyards and our wine party has never been the same. Kenwood Vineyards is based in the heart of Sonoma Valley, California, but sources grapes from dozens of locations to create fabulous and unique wine. I love that they strive for quality while also being sustainable and taking care of the environment.
Kenwood Vineyards is all about giving back to the community, which I love at this time of year. As I?m reflecting on all the things I am thankful for, I can?t help but feel like I need to help those in need. This year Kenwood Vineyards is supporting WhyHunger with a donation of $25,000. WhyHunger is a leading organization that fights hunger and poverty by providing affordable and nutritious food to empower those in need and develop self-reliance.
Now when my friends and I are reflecting on our gratitude with a glass of delicious Kenwood Vineyards wine in our hands, we can feel good about supporting a company that does so much to help the community. In fact, Kenwood Vineyards has inspired me so much that my family made a donation of our own to WhyHunger. You can do it here and instantly give to people in need.
Thanks to Kenwood Vineyard, I can enjoy a great holiday season with family and friends while also helping people in need. For more information you can follow Kenwood Vineyards on Facebook or Twitter.
