The days around here get pretty?hot?and the boys and I are always looking for a nice cool treat after some fun in the sun.?? A?great way to? cool off this summer is by enjoying a nice homemade smoothie.
The boys were beyond bored yesterday….as they say, so?we headed out in the backyard and had some outdoor fun which?included water, balloons, catch with the pup and me TRYING to do some gardening in the process.? It was HOT!? even with in the well?shaded areas of?the yard.? I’m not sure how hot it got but we sure felt the heat.??At this point, I needed some relief, so?while the water sprinklers helped keep the boys cool,??I ran in and?made a nice cool smoothie that hit the spot.
It turned out great and I think we will making more variations of these as the days get hotter.
What I used:
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 banana
5 frozen strawberries
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
I cup 2% milk
?
Easy Directions:
1. Add the yogurt, blueberries, banana, raspberries, strawberries and milk into the blender.
2. Place the blender lid on tightly. Blend on high for about 1 ? minutes until it is smooth and creamy to your liking.
Note:? It depends on my mood how I like my smoothies.?? If you like them thick add less milk or if you prefer a thinner smoothie, the 1 cup of milk in this recipe works perfect.
Enjoy!
