In the end; regardless of which vehicle you choose, there a few things that can help you can get the most out of your mileage.
Here are 2 quick driving practices you can follow today.
Quick But Effective Tips to help you get the Most out of your Mileage
Go light on the Brakes
When driving in traffic or approaching a light, it is wise to slow down sooner rather than later. If you are far enough behind the vehicle in front of you and you don?t have to come to a complete stop for slow-moving traffic or a light that has been red for a while, you?ll save gas. This is one of the main reasons, I like to keep a good distance from the car ahead of me. Starting from a complete stop always takes more fuel than starting from any speed. And from a safety perspective ? you never want to be too close to the vehicle in front of you. Slow, steady braking also reduces wear and tear on your new vehicle.
It helps to drive the speed limit
People seem to give me a funny look when I’m driving because I usually adhere to the speed limit. According to a few articles I’ve read, keeping to the speed limit on the highways help to conserve energy and that’s good news to me. It has also been noted that on highways with a 70 mph speed limit, if you drop it to 65 mph, you?ll save even more with some vehicles.
