You?ve read them a story and now they have gone down, why not spend some quality time of your own? Yes, it might have been an exhausting day, but there are still far better thanks to do than switching on the TV, that is unless your favourite football club?s game is being screened on Sky Sport. So why not leave the TV alone do something else. As a suggestion here are some of the top things that you might consider doings after the kids have gone to bed.
Do you go abroad for your holidays, particularly to France or to Spain? If so have you ever considered learning how to speak a foreign language properly? Even if you did so at school and you can get by with a decent phrase book, there is nothing like being able to converse with the locals in their own mother tongue. It feels great to do so and you will impress the locals. There are plenty of language courses around, and if you can spend just an hour a day on them you will be speaking fluently in time for your next summer holiday.
If that sounds like too much effort then why not play a board game? You have probably had an excess of computer games, but board games are so much more fun. If you enjoy strategic games then games such as Risk, Stratego, and Chess are firm favourites. General knowledge and word games such as Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, and Balderdash are really fun, though if you are feeling rather daring then there are many board games exclusively for adults.
