STRESS. Yes, Stress. Stress is the one thing I try to avoid in my life if at all possible. But sometimes, we know it can inevitable. We all have gone through it, but how we handle it makes a huge difference. I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you how it makes you feel inside and how it can turn your world upside down- so I won’t do that. Or even tell you ALL the other negative effects it can have on you such feelings of distrust, rejection and depression which can lead to headaches, upset stomach, insomnia, ulcers etc. Instead, I share with you tips and tricks on how to reduce the stress in your life or even avoid it.
A friend of mine put it in a very good way. She said, we women wear many hats and as moms, our hat racks are overflowing. I agree. We do a lot but we also need to slow it down at times and take care of ourselves. Remember when I said, when Momma is happy, Everyone is happy? Well, thats true also so let’s keep that as our goal. I am by no means an expert, but these are some things I have found to work for me in reducing my stress levels.
There are more ways of course but this is what works for me.
Exercise– Yep Exercise! I have found exercise to be really helpful when I am under stress and it really works. My favorite kind of exercise is anything fun! Just make sure to get at least 30 min of some sort of cardivascular activity. Some studies have even shown that taking a brisk 10-minute walk gives great results.
Sleep Tight -That’s Right! Did you know that most adults need 7-8 hours of sleep each night? Ever wondered why you feel so irritable and tired throughout the day? Well, maybe you can use a little more sleep each night.
Eat Right – Simple Right! By changing some of my eating habits, I feel so much better and seemingly deal with Stress Better. According to the experts, Americans consume too much caffeine which is like adding fuel to the fire when trying to reduce stress. It has also been said that Vitamin C can reduce the production of stress. So I say drink up your O.J. or take a supplement and eat more fruits and veggies!
Take a Break– YOU deserve it and your body will love you for it.
Until Next time….Take Care

It’s amazing how changing little thing in your life can really help reduce stress. Exercise is one of the easiest ways to do that. A simple walk around the block can make a world of difference and you can make it a family event!
I’ve recently been dieting and eating way more fruits and veggies and my energy levels are WAY up which means I’m not as stressed about getting everything, well almost everything done :)

Thanks for this. I try to do all these things but being narcoleptic really hurts me in the sleep department and you have no idea how much that sets me back. I try to over compensate in other areas.

Stress has become the story of my life. It has caused all sorts of things within me. I do try to manage it, but it is so hard to live with when it is mainly caused by someone you live with day in and day out.
