The first time I met my husband, I wasn?t too impressed with his attire. Somehow, there was something amiss. The shirt was just ok, his casual jacket was actually quite small and the shoes didn?t quite fit the occasion. I wouldn’t dare tell him about his attire at that time but he could have definitely used some advice from the fashion police. By being an XL man, he sometimes have a hard time not only finding shoes and clothing that fit, but things that are actually not fashionable.
I guess that?s the downside of men who have a larger frame. It?s either the store has run out of their sizes, the design is not available for that bigger size, or if by chance you see anything on the clearance racks, they either have unflattering colors or the quality is left wanting.
So what do you do when shopping for your man is a challenge?
You shop at Destination XL.
When I first learned Destination XL, I knew we had run into something big. Targeting men over 6?3? with a waistline of 40-46 inches and above, we had finally found a place where my husband can actually shop.
Since shoes are a real hassle to find in his size, we were all to eager to see what options they had. We received a pair of Tretorn Otto Canvass Boat Sneakers for him to try and the shoes not only fit but were so comfortable he didn’t want to take them off.
The Tretorn Otto Canvass Boat Sneakers are Canvas boat shoe?style sneaker designed for barefoot wear, with a Swedish Massage Tecnnology footbed for comfort which goes up to a size 15 and available in colors of white, black, taupe and navy.
If you have ever bought a pair of shoes, you know that for the most part, they generally need to be broken-in. You wear them a few hours a day until the break-in period is over and then you can start to wear them all day without hurting your feet.
Upon receiving the shoes, my husband took them out of the box, and put them on around 10am that morning and didn’t take them off till around 9 o’clock that night. This is surprising because this never happens. He mentioned that they never felt restrictive or hurt his feet in any way. With days passing, I was looking for him to reach for his regular pair of sneakers but instead he reached for the Tretorn Ottos. In his words….They are very close to being the most comfortable pair of shoes he’s ever owned.
They are so comfortable that he wouldn’t mind them all colors. Fortunately with these shoes, he has found his match.
Destination XL (DXL) is an innovative store that understands the needs of XL men. Visit your nearest DXL store and let your man experience shopping like he never has. It carries more than 300 brands such as Lacoste, Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin, and many others thereby assuring quality.
These Society of One Rumpled Cargo Shorts also seem like a great buy and would pair up nicely with my guys new canvas boat shoes.
They even have an onsite personal shopper to help men who are now happily spoiled for choice to pick the right trends for their body type. Ensuring best style, fit, and customer satisfaction is their main goal.?
Guess who’s having his own version of retails therapy this weekend?
