With all the tech gadgets that will certainly be gifted this Christmas season, here is a fun new app for kids—Mini Pupstars by Matato. The app lets kids (and adults too!) get in touch with their inner dog groomer and create some fun and stylish looks for pets. And they can get as crazy as they want with their looks—unlike the family pet, these pups will put up with anything from bowties to feather boas.
When you enter the Mini Pupstars Salon, take your pick of one of four mangy dogs to transform. Then you can wash it, dry it, cut or grow its hair, add color and fun accessories, and so much more. When you are done, your dog masterpiece is ready for its close-up and heads to a platform to get its picture taking by its adoring fans. Kids can create anything from a Christmas elf dog to a purple plaid pup to root on their favorite team—the only limit is their imagination!
Not only is the app fun for kids and lets them be silly and explore their creative side, it also helps them hone their fine motor skills. As they cut fur and spray paint, kids are learning how to move their fingers and make things happen. Matoto’s goal is to create tasks for kids to accomplish that they couldn’t normally do in real life, like run a crazy dog salon. This is the perfect compromise for kids who can’t have pets and just want to be creative. Plus, the graphics in the app are excellent—you can move around the salon and groom your 3D dog from all angles. Put a different color or pattern on each side if you want!
I give the game an overall rating of 5 stars! It’s creative and keeps kids busy! Currently the game is recommended for age 5+ but I personally found it quite interesting for someone my age (wink) and it’s and I can easily see it being an app your family will have a blast with while creating their own Pupstars this holiday season.
