If you want to be a responsible driver, you not just follow rules of the road but be courteous to others. The roads will be completely safe for driving if we treat other drivers the way we would like to be treated.
When you make an effort to be courteous, your drive becomes less stressful and more enjoyable. Basic courtesy to drivers, pedestrians, and others keep the roads safe. This also reduces the chances of getting into an accident.
- Drive based on the speed limit and flow of traffic. When you drive at a safe speed, you substantially reduce the risk of accidents. Road surface, the flow of traffic, weather, and traffic situation need to be considered when driving.
- Always allow a safe distance between your vehicle and other vehicles in front of you. This can help you react to any traffic situation quickly. It also allows other drivers to maneuver their vehicle safely when needed.
- Signal before changing or turning lanes. Avoid blocking intersections. Never drive slow in the fast lane of the highway. Remember that you are not in the race with others. Share the road with other drivers in a friendly manner.
- Road rage can be dangerous. If someone cuts you off on the road, try to understand that they may be running late or just trying to get out of traffic. They may have not done things intentionally. Getting into a rage can ruin your entire day.
- Stop at a stop sign and never run a red light. Always give way to pedestrians. Never drive recklessly on the road. It not just puts your life in danger but that of other innocent bystanders too.
