My girlfriends and I were recently talking about where we would go on a dream vacation anywhere in the world. The typical responses were thrown out: Paris, Hawaii, Australia. But my answer was one that surprised my friends: Dubai. Yes, that’s right ?Dubai! Isn?t that place unsafe or just for rich, old people? Hear me out, and let me practice my pitch to my husband on why I think everyone should visit Dubai.
Ever since seeing pictures of Dubai and hearing about the world-famous indoor snow skiing center in the middle of the desert, I have wanted to go. Dubai is a rich mix of desert climate with sleek, modern infrastructure. I love that it opens you up to the climate and some of the culture of the Middle East, but in a much safer way.
There?s something for everyone in Dubai?my husband would love the old parts of the city, with great examples of classic Islamic architecture. On the more modern side, there?s also Burj Khalifa, the world?s tallest structure as featured in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (I?m sure that will be a big selling point for m husband). Dubai?s great location lets you try nearly any kind of water activity from parasailing to swimming. The white sandy beaches are some of the best in the world, and I?m already dreaming of taking a nighttime cruise from the marina to see the lights of the city.
Dubai is a thriving city with lots to see and?do?there are lots of Dubai events. There are lots of events like theater, movies, and festivals, that can?give you a great taste of the culture , and provide a unique travel opportunity.
So what do you say?should we plan a big group trip to Dubai together? It?s definitely on the top of my travel list.
Where is your global dream vacation destination?
