Christmas is only a few short days away and I?m thinking of all the things I need to do to prepare for the stress of the next couple of days. Today we had visitors and all I did was clean. The visitors came and then my house was a total wreck again. I was so mad and frustrated and then I started looking for things that would calm me down and keep me sane through the holiday season.
Wine
Seriously, I needed some wine to calm me down. Just one glass is enough to calm me down and help keep me focused. I really don?t have a particular kind of wine that I like. I just scan the aisles for specials whenever I go to the grocery store.
Body Lotion
I love the smell of body lotion. I have about 500 different kinds in my house and I love every one of them. Whenever I get stressed, I like to take a warm bath and then use body lotion to make myself smell good. These scents have a way of calming me down and making me feel great about myself again.
Exercising
I love to exercise?most of the time. Nothing calms me down and keeps the stress away like a good old work out.? I also love the fact that there are so many things to do to exercise and stay healthy. Yeah, I may not be the skinniest girl in town but I still know how to work an elliptical.
Playing With My Kids
A lot of times kids cause stress but if you take the time to play with them?it can be a stress reliever. Try to take time out of your day and just focus on them. It will take you back to the good old days.
These are all great ways to distress and enjoy your holiday season. Don?t forget the classical eating part because that is fun too! Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

I got mad and frustrated, too. So tired and it took one evening and the next day to clean up. My oven had to be cleaned because I made a rib roast and it was a disaster! We did Christmas Eve so all day Christmas I had to work and it wasn’t fun or easy, plus hubby and I had migraines and we were alone. Not the best Christmas and will have to do something different next year to remedy this.

I love taking baths to destress. I grab a good book, turn the water on as hot as I can stand it, and toss in some smelly bath items, such as bubbles or a bath bomb. I tell everyone to leave me alone until I come out, and it is usually a wonderful, stress free, 40 minutes or so
