Let?s face it, one of the most difficult parts of the holiday season is choosing the right gift. Can you imagine the dread in the pit of your stomach when you realize your gift is just sooo wrong, or how you have over or under-gifted? Horror!
Fortunately, Christmas this year won?t be such a dreadful time for gift-giving, thanks to this brilliant new site called pickURgift.
The concept behind this is simple: you list down a number of gifts that you would like to give the giftee, and he or she can choose among the items you listed. It?s sort of a REVERSE WISHLIST thing. The result: awesome, hassle-free gift-giving in a flash!? Interesting? You bet!
I was paired up with a another blogger, Beth, from Musing Maine-iac to show you just how it works!
?Here are the simple steps on how to do it.
-
Go to the pickURgift.com:
2.? Create an account. It?s a piece of cake! Just enter your email, password, and name, and you?re good to go!
3.? Install the UR button in your bookmarks tab. The process is very easy; all you have to do is drag the button into the bookmarks tab, and voila! You can now add gifts no matter which site you are in. Just.like.that.
4. Say ?hello!? to the super helpful UR button.
The bookmarklet in your tab will look like this:
Once you click the UR button, a box appears in your screen. Just fill out the fields required and after that, you can add gifts from anywhere in the web! You can create a Gift Page from the pickURgift site or you can add a new one using the UR button.
5. Go shopping for gifts! You can visit online stores and choose gifts from any available merchants! If you see an item you like to give as a gift, just press the ever-useful UR button.? Using the UR button, you can then add these items into your gift page.? The item appears right inside the box.
6.? Go to the gift page in the pickURgift site. After adding items using your online window shopping spree, this is how your gift page would look like:
?You will then be given an option to send the gift page to your friend by typing his/her email address in the provided field.
?But wait ? how will the recipient be able to receive the gift page and pick the gift he/she likes?
?Easy.
7.? The recipient will be receiving an email from UR, and it will look like this.
?Once you receive the mail, just click on the link and you will be taken straight to the pickURgift site.
8.? View your gifts! Ooohh, the choosing! Who doesn?t love that? Just click on the gifts you like and let the would-be sender know which ones you like best! Plus, you can add comments too!
9.? Finally, after the recipient has selected the gift(s) he/she loves, the sender (or you) can now purchase those items directly.
Don?t you just think that?s absolutely brilliant? It certainly is.
You can find @pickURgift on Twitter and Facebook! Look for the hashtag #pickURgift and join in on what others are saying.
So, what gifts are you planning to buy your family and friends this Christmas? Remember, with pickURgift, there?s no such thing as a bad gift anymore!
