Car Maintenance ChecklistIt’s road trip season folks! And with the gorgeous summer sun upon us, families are planning to buckle up and hit the road. And while getting there is half the fun, making it to your destination safely should always be the first priority.
When preparing for a road trip, don’t forget one of the most important elements: preparing the car. Getting your car checked out before you leave could save you hassles, headaches and money further along in your trip. I’ve put together this handy list of car-care tips to make sure that your road trip is a great one:

5 Things To Check before Your next Road Trip

# 1 Check the Oil
Checking the oil in your car is a must before any road trip.  If you’re planning a long trip, it’s best to just get an oil change before you leave.  And if you’re driving very long distances, it’s a good idea to give the oil a quick check if you’re at a gas station.
#2 Check Tire Pressure
Tire pressure is very important so you’ll want to inspect all of your tires especially since a well pressurized tire can also save money on fuel.  You will find the correct tire pressures generally on the tires themselves, or their may be a stick on the driver’s side door that will tell you correct tire pressures.
#3 Check Spare Tire
No one ever wants to experience a blowout, and the chances are very slim if your tires are well kept and have the proper amount of tread. But sometimes things happen so you’ll want to make sure that your spare tire is inflated and present in the car. So be sure you double check before you hit the road.
#4 Check Battery
Your battery might be new, but it’s good idea to bring alternate power in the event of a dead battery.  It’s more common that you might think.  Especially if you leave some type of electronic plugged in.
#5 Extra Set of Keys
How many times have you realized, I just locked myself out.  It can spoil a vacation in seconds, as you try and find someone to help.  Avoid these situations by getting a spare key and using the item below.ou leaving?
