Personalized Soap Bottle

I thought it would be fun for my son to have his own hand soap bottle – decorated with his favorite train!

I bought a bottle of hand soap with a large flat surface front and back. I removed the label and then removed the sticky residue. I found some Thomas the Train stickers that would be perfect for decorating the bottle – especially as they included some track.

I added the stickers, but then wondered whether they would stay on after being exposed to water splashes. I decided to try a decoupage option using Outdoor Mod PodgeI coated the bottle in several layers of the glue.

However it remained slightly tacky, even after a few days of drying, so I sprayed on some clear acrylic sealer.

I placed it in the bathroom and F’s eyes lit up when he saw it!

This would be a great craft for older children to make themselves. They could choose any color or theme, and the bottles would make great gifts, too!
